Meet your instructor

Juan Lourido has been practicing Capoeira since 2004. He began in Long Beach, California, and moved to Des Moines, Iowa, in 2017. Capoeira has profoundly impacted his physical and mental health, inspiring him to share its community and culture with others. He has been offering classes for youth and adults at local schools and community centers for over 15 years, using Capoeira to promote cultural awareness, fitness, and diversity.

Currently, he leads workshops through CultureAll, a leader in creating authentic experiences to help Iowans better understand the value of world cultures. He also manages Legacy In Motion Academy in the East Village of Des Moines and offers Capoeira classes.
